Getting to know Ceresa González

Hi there! My name is Ceresa Gonz?lez, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 20 years of experience in mental health. I earned my Master's in Social Work from Fordham University and my Bachelor's degree from Saint Peter's University. Early on, I recognized that my intuitive ability to understand and connect with people would lead to a lifelong career helping others do the same. At its core, I believe the relationship we have with ourselves shapes how we interact with our environment, others, and the world. I have had a colorful career dedicated to helping others in many different capacities, including inpatient, outpatient, and psychiatric emergency room settings, trauma clinics, schools, shelters, courtrooms, prisons, and criminal justice reform. I have also had opportunities to supervise and train other clinicians, educate communities, oversee programs, and contribute to social policy change. If you're feeling stuck, you will be amazed at how capable you are of exploring parts of yourself you never knew existed. I would like to be your guide and offer the chance to uncover patterns you may not be aware of, learn control over your emotions, stop ruminating thoughts, resolve past traumas, confront avoided thoughts, feelings, and conflict, communicate effectively, improve relationships and boundaries, and embrace life transitions-to name a few!

What should a new client know about working with you?

Seeking therapy can be scary, so please take a moment and acknowledge this huge step you've just taken. With that in mind, information can sometimes help ease ambivalence in new experiences and clarify expectations. To that end, my role is to challenge you, present new perspectives, and share insights to help you reach the goals you identify as important. My role is not to tell you how you should feel or what you should do, but rather, to help you become more clear on the path that's right for you. Compassion, authenticity, transparency, curiosity, patience, open-mindedness and attention to what you say and don't say are all attributes you can expect from me.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

It may have taken me nearly 20years to find ceresa, but better late than never! She is the absolute best. She has made me feel comfortable, heard, validated, and si.ply human since the first time we spoke, and every times since.
