I don’t believe therapy needs to feel overly formal to be meaningful. A lot of the people I work with are used to holding things together for themselves or for the people around them, but still find their mind doesn’t really slow down. You might catch yourself replaying conversations, second-guessing how you showed up, or carrying things you haven’t had space to talk through in a way that actually feels grounding. In our work together, we don’t rush to figure everything out right away. We start with what’s been sitting with you, even if it feels unclear or unfinished. Over time, things begin to connect. You might start to notice why certain moments stay with you, why some relationships feel harder than others, or why your reactions don’t always match how you want to show up. I work with adults, teens, and children navigating anxiety, low mood, ADHD, trauma, identity shifts, and relationship challenges. I also support people moving through cultural expectations, immigration experiences, and LGBTQIA+ identity. I’m a bilingual, first-generation immigrant and a woman of color, and I understand what it can feel like to move between different parts of your identity. That perspective shapes how I show up in sessions—grounded, curious, and paying attention to what your experience has actually been like. You don’t need to come in with everything figured out. We can start wherever you are.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You don’t need to prepare for sessions or organize your thoughts before we meet. A lot of people come in thinking they need to explain everything clearly or have a specific reason for being here. You’re welcome to start with whatever feels most present, even if it feels messy, small, or hard to put into words. Our sessions tend to feel more like a natural conversation than something overly structured. We might spend time talking through something that’s been sitting with you after a recent interaction, or something that keeps coming up in your day-to-day life. Some sessions may feel more emotional as you open up more. Others might feel steady or reflective. And sometimes, it might just feel like you’re finally saying things out loud that you’ve been carrying for a long time. I also pay attention to what actually feels helpful to you. If something we try doesn’t land, we don’t force it. If something creates even a small shift, we build from there. My goal is for you to feel like you don’t have to filter or simplify what you’re going through in order to be understood.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work tends to feel like a rhythm that develops over time. In the beginning, we focus on getting a sense of what’s been coming up for you. That might be recent situations, ongoing patterns, or things that feel harder to explain but are still there in the background. As we keep talking, we start to notice connections. You might begin to see why certain thoughts or reactions show up in specific moments, or how past experiences are still influencing how you respond now. From there, we'll really notice these patterns in real time so you have more choice in how you respond. For example, instead of replaying something over and over after it happens, you may start to catch it while it’s happening and shift how you move through it. We also adjust as we go. If something feels helpful, we stay with it. If it doesn’t, we shift. There’s no pressure to follow a specific method at all. What matters is that our time feels relevant to your life and something you can actually carry with you outside of sessions. Over time, this often leads to feeling clearer, less overwhelmed, and more sure of how you want to show up in your relationships and day-to-day life.
