Psychotherapist
MD
Hi there, I'm Chantelle! My name is Chantelle Hodge, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Maryland (LC15774). I hold dual master’s degrees from Marymount University in Forensic Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am passionate about supporting individuals in finding their purpose in life. I believe that, at times, our trauma and mental health can truly deter us from reaching our fullest potential. In my personal opinion, every individual is unique and can achieve the happiness they desire if they are able to foster a healthier relationship with themselves. My approach As far as my theoretical approach, I consider myself an eclectic counselor, using a variety of techniques based on each client’s individual needs. I often utilize methods from person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). However, I primarily provide trauma-informed care, as I believe healing from past experiences is an essential component of successful treatment. My focus I typically work with clients who want to heal from past traumatic experiences and learn effective coping strategies to manage their symptoms. I also assist clients in developing new skills to reframe intrusive thoughts. I have experience counseling individuals with diagnoses such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). My communication style I believe therapy should be based on a collaborative approach. It’s imperative that each client finds a practitioner with whom they feel comfortable sharing and processing difficult traumas and experiences. Personally, I strive to create a safe environment so that clients feel comfortable at all times.
