Getting to know Charles Nesbitt

Hi there, I'm Charles! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Global. I am experienced and passionate about helping people adjust to the inevitable changes we all face in life. I'm also trained to help those struggling with addiction and alcoholism. I have personal experience with cancer and over 18 years in addiction recovery. I truly believe my own life experiences help me connect with those who are similar to me. My approach I am a certified Acceleration Resolution Therapist and trained in EMDR. My therapeutic approaches include Humanistic, Client-Centered, Experiential, Solution-Focused, Gestalt, CBT, and DBT. My focus I typically work with men and women struggling with cancer or addiction and alcohol issues, as well as those facing trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. My communication style I tend to relate to your current struggle and offer comfort, guidance, and support through the changes you are going through. I am a cheerleader, coach, and kind person to talk to. My journey to therapy I have a personal history of stage 3 lung cancer and addiction issues. I came to therapy after a long period of struggling with addiction. I spent four years in prison as a result of my using. Now, I am over 18 years clean from all substances and believe I have a unique understanding of experiences like ours. I want to help—more than anything. My calling in life is to be of service to others, and I intend to follow that path. My goals for you In a planned, managed way, we look for benchmarks as we move across issues, seeking moments of clarity and understanding. Growth is how we measure it. My first session with you Clients should expect a warm, kind, and caring person who is ready to get to know you and find out how to help you.
