Charles Yin, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Helping others successfully manage difficult life situations, gain insight, and grow and thrive beyond the situation is what energizes me. I use compassion, respect, humor, and authenticity to create a safe and nurturing environment where people can learn about and maximize themselves. I consider all facets of a person—thoughts, feelings, relationships, spirituality and meaning-making, physical health—in tailoring counseling to best suit that individual. Growing up in Minnesota, my struggles with seasonal depression necessitated experimenting to find effective coping skills and tools for myself. Running track and cross-country in high school and college has been a vital buffer and refuge. Growth in my faith has given me deep joy and peace despite not always feeling happy while down. My firsthand experience of the mood-lifting benefits of exercise, self-CBT, and the depth of meaning I’ve found in my faith has profoundly benefited me and motivates me to serve others. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University, which has further equipped me to support individuals in their journeys. I use compassion, respect, humor, and authenticity to create an environment encouraging people to maximize themselves and develop resiliency in the process. I consider all facets of a person—thoughts, feelings, relationships, spirituality and meaning-making, physical health—in tailoring counseling to what best suits that individual—there is no one-size-fits-all approach.
