My name is Cherrie-Ann Simon. I was born and raised on the island of Trinidad and immigrated to Southern California in my late teens in search of a better life. As an adult, I was diagnosed with dyslexia, which made college difficult, yet I persevered through educational and life challenges. I became passionate about education and was awarded several scholarships, including the McNair Scholar Award, which allowed me to conduct research, travel, and present at conferences. I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication with a Minor in Africana Studies from California State University, Dominguez Hills. My passion for helping others like myself led me to a career in Higher Education. Working with first-generation, low-income minorities, formerly incarcerated, and disabled students, I understood the many barriers to success, including mental illness, which contribute to low matriculation rates and difficulty achieving career goals. These students inspired me to return to school and become a therapist. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, specializing in Spiritual Depth Psychology. While there, I was awarded the Library Research Award for an article entitled, “Access to Mental Health Services for Low-Income African American Single Parents.” I believe in, and have benefited from, therapy to overcome life challenges, including childhood trauma. I am an advocate for a client-centered therapeutic relationship and enjoy working with individuals from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and religious backgrounds. My specialties include transitional-age youth and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, loss of a loved one, PTSD, ADHD, intergenerational trauma, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, life transitions, relationships, and stress. I use an eclectic approach to ensure treatment is tailored to meet my clients’ specific needs. I am grounded in Spiritual Depth Psychology.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
