Psychotherapist
FL
Hi there, I'm Cheryl! My name is Cheryl Breining. I am a certified Life Coach and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Adelphi University. I believe that therapy provides an individual with an opportunity to become more self-aware, examine their beliefs and values, and establish short- and long-term goals. My approach By providing a comfortable, non-judgmental environment that encourages clients to share, I use a mixture of cognitive behavioral therapy and positive psychology in my therapeutic approach. My focus I work with a variety of clients; many have been diagnosed with ADHD or suffer from anxiety. My communication style The tone of my sessions is laid back and accepting. My clients have often told me that they feel very comfortable speaking with me about difficult topics. My journey to mental healthcare After teaching and being a guidance counselor for many years, becoming a therapist was a natural step. I enjoy working with people and especially helping them discover ways to improve their lives. My goals for you After the client has identified their goal, we discuss the timetable they would like to use in achieving it. Then we talk through the steps involved in reaching the goal. The trick is that we often work backward in identifying those steps. My first session with you During the first session, I ask the client why they have started therapy, what they want to achieve, why now, how I can help, and how they would like me to act toward them. I also invite them to ask me any questions they may have about me.
