I can come alongside you in your journey through your struggles and help you develop the tools you need to overcome them. I can offer you a different perspective and a new way of thinking about your problems while helping you build the coping skills you need to manage them and the often overwhelming emotions that come along with them. Together, we can help you find a way through your problems and achieve the life you want to live. I am an Ohio Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with more than 19 years of experience treating mental health and substance abuse disorders. I graduated from The University of Akron in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and went on to earn my master's degree in Clinical and Pastoral Counseling in 2005 from Ashland Theological Seminary. Since 2005, I have worked for community mental health and addiction treatment centers, and for the last 3 years, I have moved into private practice work. Over the course of my career, I have helped clients with a wide variety of mental health problems, including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, phobias, PTSD, grief/bereavement, addiction, problem gambling, and anger issues. I primarily work with adults and can address all types of client problems and concerns. Although I draw from many different approaches when working with clients, the two approaches I use the most are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.
