What should a new client know about working with you?

The people I connect with come from many walks of life—clinicians or first responders recognizing they need care themselves, individuals new to therapy after a recent crisis, or anyone seeking to make sense of loss or change. If you feel disconnected from how you imagined life or yourself, or unsure where to start, my goal is to help you notice small, meaningful shifts that broaden your options and strengthen your capacity to cope. In order to find those points of shift, I often need to get to know what you know already works for you, like walking your dog after a long day, or spending time alone to recharge after receiving difficult news. Therapy is your space where you can be fully seen and heard without judgment. I’m straightforward, calm, and collaborative—engaging with the details of your life and context while providing clear, honest feedback. Together, we’ll navigate whatever emotions arise—tears, laughter, anger, or numbness—building trust so you feel safe to explore and grow.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I was drawn to therapy through witnessing how much the world around us—and how we engage with it—impacts our wellbeing. My passion has always been to help people live fully where they are. In my clinical work, I focus on supporting those navigating trauma, grief, and life changes. I’ve had the privilege of working with survivors of crime, natural disasters, and loss, and am motivated by the opportunity to empower you to reconnect with what matters most, so you can feel more like yourself. In a season of treading water, it can be hard to imagine the future. My goal is to empower you to integrate the jagged parts of your story and move from surviving to thriving. I do this by helping you name your reality and adjust to it while moving toward your personal goals. I specialize in tailoring evidence-based therapy to your real-world context, whether that’s through pet therapy, mindfulness, or other creative tools. Ultimately, I aim to work myself out of a job by supporting your self-awareness and resilience. Our first session is a chance to connect and begin building trust. You’ll share what brought you here, whether it’s a longstanding challenge or something new. We’ll discuss therapy logistics, including informed consent, and talk about how many sessions might fit your needs—my work often focuses on short-term therapy with clear goals. It’s normal to feel nervous, and I’m here to support you with patience and openness as we take these first steps together toward healing.
