“Tina has been my therapist for years and she really helped me to get to know myself better and how to pause and navigate life better as well. She’s mindful , intelligent , encouraging yet honest . She’s also solution oriented and knows how to cater to whatever you may be going through that day as far as how to have the session and how to feel more at ease and confident once it’s over”

Getting to know Christine Gemberling

Taking a step towards mental wellness can be overwhelming, but I am here to walk you through the process. I provide a safe and flexible environment for clients to explore their goals in life, and I empower individuals to make a plan for healing. Each plan of care is created with an individually focused lens that allows clients to maintain control of their goals and action steps toward wellness. Although my approach is integrative and person-centered, I most often utilize CBT, mindfulness, supportive, strength-based, and couples therapy techniques within my sessions. I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of Toledo and have over 10 years of experience as a Licensed Independent Social Worker. My experience includes counseling in areas of grief and loss, life transitions, chronic illness, anxiety, depression, and much more. I believe that talk therapy is most effective when an established and trusting therapeutic bond is formed. ?Mental strength is not the ability to stay out of the darkness; it's the ability to sit present in the darkness knowing that the light will shine again? (AHDH Superhero, 2022).

What should a new client know about working with you?

The first session is similar to an "interview". Clients should take this session to see if they are comfortable with me as their therapist and to see if we are a "good fit". I welcome questions about my methods and area of expertise. I also complete a psychosocial assessment and try to provide education on both the process and basics of therapy. If a client feels comfortable moving forward, we should dedicate the end of the first session to goal planning and scheduling a follow-up appointment(s).

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

I started therapy for the first time ever with Tina about 3 months ago and it has been so helpful. I was hesitant to start therapy because I did not want to "shop" for the perfect therapist. After 1 session I knew that she was the perfect fit for what I needed. She is a great listener and is very easy to talk to. She has helped me work through depression, social anxiety, and ADHD. She takes a non judgmental and solution oriented approach. I highly recommend Tina if you're a first timer who is nervous to start, or even a veteran looking for a new therapist. Thank you Tina!!
