“I have already shared what I learned with close friends and told them to find Christine if their insurance covers grow therapy, or someone like her. She is a standout from any therapist I've had since going to therapy on and off from age 11: in that she actually sees me, pays attention to me, hears me, and knows how to get through to me and work with me. Ever since I realized I treated therapy as a job interview and made the conscious decision to use this new opportunity to unmask - something I did not necessarily know how to do - I have felt, with each session, my most authentic and real self come to the surface and a relief in my nervous system that I don't think my own family has known.”

Getting to know Christine Lucas

Hi. I'm Christine. Over-stressed and demoralized these days? Are familiar activities and places that you've found soothing suddenly not offering relief from anxiety and depression? There is no failure or shame in revamping your coping skills, finding inspiration in new narratives, and challenging old beliefs that keep you from embracing the many versions (discovered and undiscovered) of you! Are you caught in the comparison trap? Spiraling in a bad algorithm? I will help you find meaningful connection, improve relationship skills, and teach emotional regulation strategies. Life transitions can be tricky too, and it can be helpful to talk though periods of loss and change. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a background in journalism, gardening, and photography. I am passionate about creating habitats for local wildlife and believe one's relationship with the natural world is impactful to their level of overall wellness. I enjoy tapping people into various modes of expression, and I'm drawn to helping people live their most authentic lives.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You can expect that I will provide you new ways of seeing yourself and your challenges. I will gather a detailed psychosocial history of you, get to the nitty-gritty, and allow you to reveal things at your own comfort level. After we’ve worked together for a while, I will help you see your own progress based on these factors: your self-report, my observations, and assessment scores. I will highlight your strengths, collaborate on treatment goals, and help you reach them with weekly objectives. I am the nonjudgmental helper with clinical training that allows me to tell you what’s what, listen, or in some cases refer to a provider that better meets your needs.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
