Christine Perry, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hello! My name is Christine Perry, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I believe treatment should be as unique as each individual; therefore, my approach is very client/person-centered and strength-based. This gives us the opportunity to utilize your needs to create a space in which you can heal and grow. I earned my Master’s in Psychology from California State University, Bakersfield. Throughout my clinical experience, I’ve utilized a variety of techniques based in both interpersonal and person-centered approaches. For me, this means we work from the perspective that each individual has the answers they need. During treatment, we will utilize Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (among others as needed). I have experience working with young children, adolescents, adults, families, and caregivers with concerns ranging from stages of life to severe impairment of daily functioning. Additionally, I have worked with those in crisis (SI, HI, self-harm), eating disorders, mood disorders, relational issues, maladaptive coping skills, addiction, and life adjustment disorders. My presence in therapy is empathetic, present, and caring, with a dash of humor as appropriate. Depending on the stage of treatment, I can be your cheerleader, your hope holder, or a guide for the next positive transition in your life. I entered this profession because I am in awe of the strength and bravery of those grappling with life issues, myself included. It takes courage to share your struggles and trust the person sitting across from you while you enter your healing phase—I will forever honor that. During sessions, you can expect to explore your concerns, identify your needs, and work collaboratively in setting goals if needed, or simply have a listening ear to help you process. In our first session, we will set expectations for therapy, complete administrative tasks, listen to your story, and get to know each other.
