My educational background includes earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master's in Clinical Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands, as well as a Master's in Addictions. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC #16395) and a certified addictions counselor. My areas of concentration include grief and significant trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, addictions, and a sub-concentration in eating disorders. My approach I use evidence-based, solution-focused treatment modalities tailored to each individual's needs. These include, but are not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which helps clients become aware of negative or inaccurate thinking and reframe thoughts to better manage challenging situations; Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, which supports understanding and accepting intense emotions; and Motivational Interviewing for addictions, encouraging clients to maintain sobriety by identifying intrinsic motivations and values. Utilizing Trauma-Informed Care, I assess each person's trauma and its impact on behavior, mental and physical health, and their ability to engage in treatment. My focus I work with adult and older teen clients, addressing acute trauma such as survivors of rape, suicide, murder, or natural disasters, as well as chronic trauma including domestic violence, abuse, and complex trauma. I also specialize in addictions and eating disorders and offer group therapy for adult survivors of childhood trauma. My communication style I am evidence-based and solution-focused, exploring with clients ways to grow, develop self-acceptance, and uncover traumatic experiences and daily stressors that hinder reaching their highest potential. I provide an unbiased, listening ear in a safe and accepting environment and collaborate with clients to develop action plans tailored to their unique experiences and lives.
