It can take much consideration before scheduling time to speak with a counselor, and I am here to make this process meaningful for you. I help individuals navigate through trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, and addiction. Additionally, I work with ASD individuals who need support with self-advocacy, communication, and emotional regulation. My approach My counseling approach is person-centered, and I use various therapy techniques, including EMDR, TF-CBT, CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, and various art and music therapy techniques. These techniques help those navigate trauma or life hardships by creating safety, acceptance, and steps forward. My focus I work with adults and teenagers navigating through life transitions, heavy emotions, difficult relationships, or loss. Whatever you are coping with, I will meet you where you are on your journey and build a plan that best supports and empowers you. My communication style My communication style is straightforward and accepting. I encourage client feedback and will listen with unconditional positive regard. I generally have a calm demeanor, even in tough situations. My journey to mental healthcare I had a wonderful counselor at one point in life, and that experience changed my life for the better both personally and professionally, as I became inspired to become a counselor after that positive experience. Additionally, I have loved ones with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and they have needed various supports, which can be hard to find. My goals for you I work with my clients to identify goals and objectives of treatment. I create therapy plans based on client feedback, and change the plan as treatment progresses and goals change. My first session with you Our first session will be an opportunity for us to meet and establish your goals for therapy. I will review your history and any significant parts of your timeline.
