Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Clancy! Hello! My name is Clancy Vinchattle, and I’m a licensed clinical social worker with a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Iowa. My approach to therapy is to find practical ways to improve mental health and help you find peace in life. My areas of expertise include depression and anxiety, with a specialty in aging, cancer, caregiver stress, and grief. My approach I primarily use cognitive behavioral therapy and problem-solving therapy to find practical solutions to life’s stresses. As a social worker, I apply systems theory to identify how different parts of your life—health, work, relationships, finances, upbringing, and more—may be affecting your mental health. I aim to create a safe space where you can process your situation without judgment or prescribed solutions. Together, we’ll find the best way for you to manage yourself and find peace. My focus I typically work with adult and senior clients undergoing life transitions, whether due to medical issues, loss, “adulting,” or other events. I am most comfortable treating depression, anxiety, caregiver stress, and grief. My communication style I strive to create an environment of genuine exploration of your experience. I’ll ask questions to help us both understand your situation and gain insight into managing life’s stresses. As we get to know each other, you’ll find me using humor during our sessions. My journey to mental healthcare I entered social work, especially medical social work, with the goal of being a genuine presence for people during life’s transitions. Working as a certified nurse aide through college taught me the importance of compassion and respect even in life’s most difficult moments. I want to be alongside people and encourage finding peace during tumultuous times.
