Hi there, I'm Clarissa! Hello there. I am Clarissa Saigeon, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a mental health specialty in the state of Tennessee. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling from Liberty University. I work with people aged 13 and older and specialize in addiction, self-harm, trauma, and grief. I am eclectic with my treatment approach, using the techniques that will work best for you, though I place a strong emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. My approach I use an eclectic approach, drawing from multiple theoretical areas to best serve my clients. That said, I tend to rely heavily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to help clients access the strength to change and explore how their thoughts are intertwined with their emotions and behaviors. My focus I have worked with a variety of age ranges, starting with clients as young as 13. My experience includes three years in the addiction field, working with those who have co-occurring disorders. I also have a passion for working with veterans and their families. My communication style My communication style is calm and soothing. I want my clients to walk away from their sessions feeling truly heard. My journey to mental healthcare I was drawn to counseling after seeing a loved one who is a veteran struggle with his mental health. Witnessing how these struggles affected him and his family inspired me to help those facing mental health challenges and bring more light into their days. While I initially wanted to work exclusively with veterans and their families, I have found over time that I enjoy working with anyone seeking help. My goals for you When it comes to setting goals, clients often know what they want to work toward. Even so, it can sometimes be difficult to put into words exactly what they hope to achieve. I am here to support you in clarifying and reaching those goals.
