Psychotherapist
2613 Alamo Rd, Edinburg, TX
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor passionate about helping children, adolescents, and couples work through their trauma. Counseling is a personal journey, and it would be my honor to share in yours—to help you achieve your life goals, overcome barriers, and find meaning in a world of uncertainty. My approach is trauma-focused and client-centered. I tailor my methods to each client’s needs rather than using the same technique for everyone. These include person-centered therapy, Gestalt, CBT, art therapy, mindfulness, grief therapy, and DBT. I am a certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) therapist with extensive experience working with children and families affected by trauma. I have worked with adolescents, young children, and adults on issues such as anxiety, depression, career and life transitions, grief and loss, LGBTQIA+ affirming care, PTSD, and trauma. The relationship I build with clients is the most important element for healing. Your story matters, and my focus is to create a trusting, compassionate environment where you can express your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors without judgment. I am a reflective therapist who offers unconditional positive regard, believing in a warm, collaborative approach while also being direct and challenging when needed. Before becoming a counselor, I spent 25 years as an educator—serving as a teacher, school counselor, principal, and director. I helped principals improve their schools and keep students engaged. While I assist clients in navigating the education system’s rules and laws, my true passion lies in supporting those who are hurting and those the good Lord places in my path. This passion drives me to do this work. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, which laid the foundation for my commitment to education and mental health.
