Psychotherapist
GA
Hello. My name is Connie Moore. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia and hold an MEd in Community Counseling from Georgia Southern University. I am a Christian Counselor who believes that Christ is the great counselor guiding the change process within my therapy sessions. My approach I utilize CBT techniques to help you unlearn any irrational ideas you may have about yourself and the world. Piaget's stages of cognitive development and Motivational Interviewing techniques guide the process of positive change and growth often missed from difficult or traumatic childhood experiences. My focus My experiences have given me a wide knowledge base for the treatment of mental illness across the lifespan, from children to the elderly. I am most comfortable working with adult women and men experiencing depression, anxiety, or anger as a result of past trauma or loss. My communication style I strive to provide a loving environment where you can explore your own path toward a renewal of your mind by taking your negative thoughts captive. Open and honest sessions allow us to partner in supporting your recovery from layers of protective walls that no longer serve you well. My journey to mental healthcare My therapist journey began with my own search for a better quality of life for my children and myself. In my recovery from childhood trauma, I found that my experiences provide the empathy needed to help others find hope and healing. My goals for you Setting goals gives us a guide on your path to recovery from specific symptoms. Most important is improving your functioning in areas of life that enhance your connection with God, your relationships, and your stages of life. My first session with you Our first few therapy sessions will allow you to tell your story and receive validation for your needs. Your growth is found in that story. Processing strong emotions and events gives us clues to core issues blocking your recovery.
