I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master?s in Counseling Psychology and a Master?s in Forensic Psychology from Argosy University, San Francisco Bay Area, and a Bachelor?s degree from Dominican University of California. I am eager to help you gain the skills you need to achieve growth and see personal progress on your life?s journey. My approach I utilize a client-centered approach to fully understand my client?s perspective, values, and beliefs. This approach is integrated with elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). My focus I have experience working with teens, young adults, and other adults managing the challenges of life and social pressures. I support clients with concerns such as depression, stress, anxiety, trauma, peer conflict/bullying, self-harm, self-esteem, school-related issues, racial/ethnic identity, racial microaggressions, and racial trauma. As a former collegiate athlete, I understand the unique needs athletes face and provide support for struggles related to mental health issues like depression, anxiety, injury, and the end of sport. My communication style My communication style includes active listening, empathy, direct and clear communication, as well as providing helpful feedback. I listen without judgment. My goal is to help you feel comfortable discussing anything with me in session. My journey to mental healthcare Helping others is a value my family instilled in me at a young age. Through my own healing journey, I realized many people want to speak to someone who looks like them and shares a similar cultural background. Representation in therapy is important.
