I believe it’s imperative to provide quality therapeutic services to individuals from all different walks of life. I help clients focus on experiences they've encountered and process how these events have influenced their sense of self. As your therapist, I am here to guide you along your journey and assist in your healing, acceptance, and overall peace. Clients are encouraged to focus on strengths, learn from their past, and utilize both to reach their therapeutic goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Clients are encouraged to focus on strengths, learn from their past, and utilize both to reach their therapeutic goals. The intake session allows for the client to create the most accurate picture of themself. This will include sharing personal history, diagnosis/medications, and areas you may need assistance with. I use a diverse set of approaches such as CBT, Strengths-Based, Motivational Interviewing, and Person Centered Therapy; dependent on the client being served. My experience includes working with individuals dealing with depression, trauma, life transitions, anxiety, group work with teens, and foster/adoptive families. A positive connection and open communication are key to any therapeutic relationship, and it is important my clients feel heard, respected, and understood.

We were told the day before our appointment, which was made very far in advance, that it had to suddenly be cancelled due to an "emergency" the provider was experiencing. I received a call from a very nice man who assured me I was rescheduled for exactly one week from the day of the appointment, which would be tomorrow, October 12th, at 9 am, but it would take a couple days for it to show up. When Wednesday rolled around and it still hadn't shown up, I called to confirm we were still scheduled. After holding for a bit, he told me that unforutnely she was fully booked on this date I had been promised. They asked me to instead accept an appt on Saturday at 9am. As I had explained many times, I work Saturdays, as does my partner. This entire debacle triggered a massive fight between my partner and I, and our appointment was for couples counseling. To say I am disappointed is an understatment. I hope the new provider we are scheduled to see tomorrow is more considerate of her patients.
