My name is Dr. Cornelia Wenze, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 35 years of experience in the helping profession. I earned both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Florida State University. I believe therapy is a two-way interaction between client and therapist, requiring commitment, diligence, application, and assurance. My approach I pride myself on being a non-judgmental therapist with a unique style. My goal is to help clients learn new ways of coping with challenges through respect and compassion. I believe individuals have the capacity to transform during adverse situations and achieve an optimum life. My focus I specialize in trauma-informed care, addressing the specific treatment needs of children and adolescents. I also work with young adults and women. I am comfortable treating depression, ADHD, ODD, anxiety, women's issues, diversity issues, peer difficulties, adjustment issues, stress management, anger issues, and workplace difficulties. My communication style I use active listening, empathy, and clear communication to provide feedback. My journey to mental healthcare A summer counseling class as an undergrad sparked my desire to join the helping profession. My initial work with foster care children was gratifying and taught me much about this population. I am driven by a desire to serve others and find it rewarding to make a difference in someone's life.
