Psychotherapist

No matter our age, life can throw us for a loop sometimes. Even young children can struggle with anxiety, depression, or self-esteem issues. This can be very overwhelming, not only for the child but for the parents as well. Familial conflict often stems from these challenges due to the stress they place on the entire family unit. There is no "one-size-fits-all" approach to therapy. Because of this, I take the time to really get to know my clients and their families to create a plan tailored to their specific needs. I help clients paint a picture of their ideal reality and then work with them to implement changes that move them toward that vision. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Montclair State University and a Bachelor's degree from James Madison University. I know firsthand how challenging life can be. Whether the focus is on improving ourselves or helping someone else, having a guide along the way can make all the difference. If you're ready to take the first step toward improving yourself or someone you care about, let's find a time to talk and begin moving forward together.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy is not a one-size fits all approach. Because of this, I take the time to really get to know my clients, and the specific stressors that they are dealing with. This not only helps create a more individualized approach to treatment, but allows helps give you the autonomy over your own care. My main goal is to help clients, of all ages, to feel more in control of their lives. By using a combination of CBT, Solution-Focused therapy, and an overall holistic approach, I help present clients with different perspectives to adopt, with the intention of this changing how they feel about a situation. With this approach, clients have reported experiencing improvements to their lives in as little as 3-6 months.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I usually provide clients additional resources, geared towards their specific needs, to help them continue their progress outside of sessions. I believe that by establishing habits that one can engage in seamlessly and routinely, clients are able to create long-term, sustainable change.
