Courtney Stubbs, LCSW

Psychotherapist
GA
Hi there, I'm Courtney! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master’s in Social Work from Valdosta State University. I have been a social worker since 2007 and practicing in a clinical capacity since 2018. We all need someone at times, and it can be difficult to seek out help due to fear or stigma. I am an empathetic and supportive counselor who offers a judgment-free zone where you can identify and explore any issues you are open to discussing. My approach Currently, I focus mostly on using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Mindfulness in my practice. My focus I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults of all ages. My areas of focus are anxiety, depression, grief, and dealing with chronic illness. My communication style I hope to set a comfortable and laid-back atmosphere for my clients that helps them feel at ease opening up and discovering themselves. My journey to mental healthcare I started my social work career with a degree in Psychology and working in community mental health with children and adolescents. My desire to do more therapeutic work with diverse populations drove me to pursue social work. I knew I wanted to be a therapist when I did my clinical supervision with an amazing therapist who made me realize just how empowering therapy could be. My goals for you My approach to goal setting is to help you discover what goals would be most beneficial to you and to support you in finding ways to achieve them. My first session with you During our first session, you can expect us to get to know each other and ensure we are a good fit for a therapeutic relationship. We will focus on your personal history, what brings you to therapy, current life stressors, and your goals for what you would like to achieve through therapy.
