Hello, I'm Cristina. I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Thomas University. Do you feel worried and stressed? Are you struggling to stay positive, communicate with those around you, cope with work stress, and stay healthy? Are you facing challenges in your family relationships or adapting to many changes in your life, such as new relationships or a new country? I help young and middle-aged adults manage anxiety and avoid burnout. Together, we can identify what’s not working, build confidence, increase healthy habits, replace negative thinking with positive thoughts, learn relaxation techniques, improve communication, set healthy boundaries, and strengthen relationships. We will set goals together and spend each session addressing these goals, discussing small steps toward progress. I also integrate mindfulness, communication skills training, and stress management techniques to help you develop coping and problem-solving skills. Whether you’re overwhelmed, struggling with family conflict, in need of parenting strategies, facing relationship issues, or dealing with anxiety and depression, I’m here to help. Therapy can feel challenging, but that challenge is what leads to positive change. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions, I will meet you with compassion, empathy, respect, and sensitivity to help you explore alternative thoughts and behaviors that support your goals. I look forward to meeting you soon!

What should a new client know about working with you?

"During the early phase of therapy, the focus will be on discussing the symptoms or issues that brought you to therapy. Once we have a good understanding of those issues, the next step is to create a treatment plan based on the strategies that would be most effective in addressing them. During the middle phase of therapy, we will use different techniques and interventions to reach the goals we've set in the treatment plan. Techniques generally include problem-solving skills, psychoeducation, and communication enhancement. During this late phase of therapy, we review how mental health symptoms have been alleviated and how you can maintain your mental health once the symptoms have been alleviated. "

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
