Cristy Connolly, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
Hi there, I'm Cristy! If you're looking for a therapist who truly listens and helps you feel understood, I provide a supportive space for teens and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and life’s challenges. Using proven approaches like CBT, DBT, EMDR, and narrative therapy, I tailor our work to what fits you best. I offer both daytime and evening sessions and am passionate about creating an affirming environment for LGBTQ+ individuals and all identities. My approach I use a variety of therapies, including EMDR, CBT, and DBT. EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and this therapy helps memories go from reliving the memory to simply remembering the memory. When we go through things-good, bad, ugly-we create beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world. Some of these beliefs may include, "I am not good enough," "I cannot trust," "I am too blame." EMDR can help us change these beliefs to more positive statements. EMDR helps us heal our brain, heart, and body from the effects of trauma. CBT and DBT help us change our thinking patterns and change our behaviors. My focus If you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, stuck in past trauma, or just needing someone to truly understand you, I’m here to help. I work with teens and adults who want a safe, affirming space to explore what’s going on beneath the surface—especially those in the LGBTQ+ community or navigating life transitions. Using approaches like CBT, DBT, EMDR, and narrative therapy, I tailor our sessions to what works best for you, always grounded in a strong, supportive relationship. Daytime and evening appointments are available to fit your life. My communication style In my practice, I prioritize clear, open communication to create a supportive and non-judgmental space where you can feel safe to be yourself. I practice active, compassionate listening and will partner with you to explore your experiences at your own pace.
