Cynthia B Rogers, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Cynthia! My name is Cynthia Rogers, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in the Bay Area of California, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Sacramento. I work with adults specializing in anxiety, relationships, low self-esteem, and life transitions. Drawing from evidence-based modalities (e.g., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), expressive arts modalities (e.g., Drama Therapy), mindfulness, and self-compassion, I assist your inquiry into and practices for feeling better and creating positive change. Utilizing a variety of modalities—cognitive behavioral therapy, internal family systems, drama therapy, mindfulness, and self-compassion—I tailor my approach to what best suits your needs. We explore the conditioning, patterns, and roles that impact your current behaviors, stories, and beliefs about yourself. You will learn to understand and shape your nervous system with greater agency; relate to your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors more effectively; and engage the various parts within you more wisely. I have found my style and approach fit adults dealing with anxiety, low self-esteem, and transitions in relationships, work, or life. I help clients see themselves as Choice-Makers. While we may not always control external circumstances, we can learn to consider what serves us, remain open and curious about how we relate to challenges, and explore options for wise action. My communication style is calm, open, kind, and curious. I aim to create a safe, supportive, and welcoming space for you to be heard and understood as we explore your current issues and concerns. I initially chose to become a therapist to understand myself better. I had a career as an actor in my early 20s and found I wanted "Life" to be my art rather than "Art" my life.
