Cynthia Fong, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Cynthia! Hello, and welcome to my profile! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California with over 25 years of experience working with children, youth, and adults in various settings. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from San Francisco State University. My approach My approach combines active listening, strength-based, solution-focused, and cognitive behavioral theory. I tailor our work to meet your specific needs and provide tools to live a more fulfilling life. My focus I specialize in working with people experiencing challenges including self-confidence, depression, anxiety, pregnancy and/or parenting, PTSD, and various types of trauma such as sexual, emotional, and physical abuse. My communication style My counseling style is down-to-earth, compassionate, and caring. I believe in honesty, treating everyone with dignity and respect, and having an open mind. My goal is to create a nonjudgmental, empathetic atmosphere where individuals feel safe to share their thoughts and feelings. My journey to mental healthcare I began my career providing case management and counseling services and later took management and leadership roles in community-based organizations. For the past 18 years, I have supervised and trained bachelor’s and graduate students in case management and therapeutic services. As a former young parent and someone who has faced challenging life experiences, I became a therapist because I believe everyone deserves to be loved and supported according to their unique needs. My goals for you First, we'll identify what led you to seek therapy and build rapport. Then, we'll collaboratively define clear, concise goals with measurable outcomes to track your progress. The path may not be linear—goals often evolve, so we'll regularly review and update them as part of the therapeutic process.
