Hi there, I'm Cynthia! In today's world, it is ever more vital to connect, share, and solicit caring, competent feedback and support. I offer a holistic, intuitive, and practical lens to assist you in optimally navigating your circumstances. My approach I encourage clients to identify ways to empower themselves to manage situations in their lives. By combining self-reflection and self-compassion with practical strategies, I guide clients toward listening to their inner wisdom. My focus Twenty years of working in the field of mental health have granted me an array of experiences with varied client populations. My main focus currently is assisting people who are dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction, and are working on building positive habits, coping skills, and functional strategies. My communication style My tone is casual, relational, and empathetic with a touch of humor - when appropriate. My journey to mental healthcare My journey as a mental health provider started in art school when I realized my work was about analyzing and validating psychological experiences. I also studied Iyengar yoga and found the practice helpful in regulating emotions. I earned a graduate degree in marital and family therapy, emphasizing art therapy, and wrote my thesis on art and movement as healing modalities. During COVID, I had the privilege of facilitating trauma-sensitive yoga for a study with veterans through the VA. For the past 17 years, I have worked with patients in an acute setting. I continue to explore the balance of integrating self-care into daily life while also nurturing career, marriage, and children. My goals for you I enjoy understanding and discussing psychological and relational context while also emphasizing and distilling down actionable coping strategies. My first session with you I'm interested in hearing about your goals and reasons for seeking therapy and about your strengths and challenges.
