Hi, my name is Dain Dorsey. I was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley and the surrounding areas of Los Angeles. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist with a Master’s in Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles. It’s been an interesting journey, to say the least. Wouldn’t you agree? Life has a way of delivering complicated, interesting, downright peculiar things to us. On both my professional and personal journey, I have sought to learn more about how to find peace, happiness, and fulfillment. We are each different; each with different DNA, from different environments, and with different experiences that molded us into the people we are today. As a therapist, I seek to learn my client’s truths. I consider it a privilege to be invited to explore your inner world with you: your value system, your experiences, your way of thinking and acting, and how you feel about it all. I use curiosity as my driving force to better understand my clients, as I try to learn who they are. I also work with compassion, with non-judgmental intentions to encourage the person you are, and empower who you could be. I believe we all have value and merit in this world, and I believe we deserve an opportunity to wield its power. How do we become the best versions of ourselves? Whether you are new to therapy or not, I commend you for the bravery it takes to square up to your problems, however minuscule or enormous they may seem. It can take a lot of energy to try and change things, but once we find a way to overcome, I believe we can find a new sense of freedom. Thank you for your consideration, and good luck.
