Dallas Chismar, LPC

Psychotherapist
333 Perry St, Castle Rock, CO
Hello, I'm Dallas. My journey to becoming a therapist began during my time with the Colorado Springs Police Department as a police officer. It was there, through a 40-hour course on Crisis Intervention Training, that I discovered my passion for helping people in crisis and those suffering from serious mental illness. After an on-duty injury led to my medical retirement, I found myself searching for a new purpose. It took several years, but I eventually found my calling as a therapist. I am now a Licensed Professional Counselor. My educational path started at Purdue University, where I earned two Bachelor's degrees in Sociology and French, with a minor in Psychology. I then pursued my Master of Arts in Counseling at Regis University. Following my graduation, I gained valuable experience working in community mental health, assisting victims and perpetrators of domestic violence, and addressing issues related to addiction, personality disorders, PTSD, depression, and anxiety. In addition to my formal education, I have advanced training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). These therapeutic approaches allow me to provide effective and tailored support to my clients. I specialize in treating depression, psychosis/schizophrenia, stress, trauma, suicidal ideation and self-harming behaviors, anxiety, addiction, and borderline personality disorder. My approach to therapy is compassionate and client-centered, focusing on creating a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment. Working with me means embarking on a journey of self-discovery and healing. I am here to help you navigate life's challenges and work towards a more fulfilling and balanced life. If you're ready to take the first step, I invite you to reach out and start this journey together.
