Getting to know Daniel Bein

The provider is a "Associate Counselor" with license number 37AC00934400, practicing under the supervision of Kelsey Giannone. Daniel believes that healing happens in relationship with ourselves and others, when we feel genuinely seen, understood, and met in our pain without judgment. His approach is grounded in the belief that every person already carries the capacity for growth and resilience within them. At times, we need someone to help us view our lives from a different angle.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Daniel has worked in a variety of settings: with children, veterans, nurses in the ICU, end-of-life concerns in hospice, and in community mental health. Using this experience, Daniel will sit with you in your hardest moments of grief, trauma, rage, and despair without flinching or redirecting. He understands that patience, groundedness, and the ability to hold space for difficulty, allow us to move through painful experiences. He works with individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan, specializing in anxiety, depression, PTSD, religious trauma, grief, and existential concerns. He draws primarily from Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), tailored to what each person needs.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

As a first-generation American, Daniel is passionate about making mental health care accessible to immigrant and diaspora communities where stigma often keeps people from seeking help. Whether you're coming to therapy for the first time, returning after years away, or searching for someone who gets it, Daniel is here. His goal is to help you move through what's hard, reconnect with or discover your values, and find your way back to yourself.

Before working with Daniel as my counsellor, I was having challenges handling grief and navigating a large life change. Through his guidance and counseling, I was able to work toward a better place of acceptance and I would recommend working with Daniel because of positive outcome approaches and feeling supported, in a calm environment that allowed me to open up more.
Daniel has been a great help to me. I've been struggling with feelings of self worth and a lot of shame. Through his help I've really worked on things and think I've found where these issues come from. I really recommend seeing him! He's fantastic, and very helpful and his personality is what I needed
Before talking to Daniel, I struggled with blaming myself. I would set an impossibly high standard and punish myself when I didn’t uphold that. Through our conversations, Daniel helped me realize that I wouldn’t act this way towards people I love. He helped me foster a sense of self-compassion, and he modeled what healthy self-talk looked like, even after making a mistake or missing the mark. I would highly recommend working with Daniel because he creates a safe space, is down to earth, and goes above and beyond to provide care.
Before working with Daniel as my counsellor, I was feeling overwhelmed, stuck in negative thought patterns, and struggling to manage stress in a healthy way. I had difficulty opening up and wasn’t sure how to move forward with the challenges I was facing. Through his guidance, I was able to better understand myself, develop healthier coping strategies, and build more confidence in handling difficult situations. Daniel created a safe and supportive environment that helped me feel comfortable being honest and vulnerable, which made a huge difference in my growth and progress. I would recommend working with Daniel because he is compassionate, patient, and genuinely invested in helping people improve their well-being. His approach is thoughtful, nonjudgmental, and practical, and I always felt heard and supported throughout the process.
Before working with Daniel as my counsellor, I felt overwhelmed by many different thought patterns that were anxiety inducing and not helpful. Through his guidance, I was able to be more forgiving to myself and consider different perspectives of how to view my shortcomings. I would recommend working with Daniel because he is able to express things that I'm experiencing in a way that I can understand, leave room for me to explore my own issues while also giving pointed advice for different circumstances.
Daniel was so incredibly helpful to me. Before speaking with him, I only viewed my issues one way, like I had tunnel vision. But whenever we would meet, he would ask a question or make a comment that totally shifted my viewpoint on whatever the issue was. I was able to approach new challenges and issues in a more wholistic manner thanks to Daniel’s guidance. I would absolutely recommend working with Daniel, because his insights, along with his calm and caring demeanor, have the ability to pull you out of your own head (in a good way!) and approach your challenges with greater clarity.
Before working with Daniel as my counsellor, I was struggling with feeling over whelmed on how to deal with so much on my plate. Through his guidance, I learned that is fine to ask for help from others and I don’t have to do all of it alone. I would recommend working with Daniel because he is a super kind guy, and really thinks before he speaks all his answer to questions and concerns where very thoughtful and thought provoking.
Before working with Daniel as my counsellor, I was struggling with how to navigate my relationships with people around me and dealing with setbacks. Through Dan’s guidance, I learned to reframe setbacks. I learned to keep working on things in my control and being charitable to myself and others around me even if I’m not happy with a certain outcome. I would highly recommend working with Daniel because he listens well, relates, and offers guidance that’s actionable and empowering.
Daniel was really helpful and nice. He helped me break an internet pornography addiction by identifying parent wounds, and then I actually started a recovery group at my school. Daniel helped me see how I was really anxious, and then I am now able to challenge my anxious thoughts. Before, I was pretty depressed, but now I ahve a job and girlfriend. I liked how Daniel is gentle, but he'll still disagree with you, if he thinks something doesnt make sense
I’m very grateful for the support I’ve received from Daniel Bein. Starting therapy for the first time can feel intimidating, but he made the entire process feel comfortable and approachable from the very beginning. His calm and understanding presence helped me open up at my own pace without feeling pressured. Since working with him, I’ve started to notice real progress—especially in how I approach my thoughts and emotions with a more positive mindset. He listens and offers thoughtful guidance that feels both practical and encouraging. I truly appreciate the safe, supportive environment he creates, and I feel like I’ve taken meaningful first steps in my therapy journey because of his help. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to begin therapy or work toward personal growth.
