Getting to know Daniel Calderon

Do you want consistent and collaborative therapy services? Do you want a therapist who can be flexible and accommodate your busy schedule? Are you tired of receiving the same type of coping skills that might not be right for you? I work collaboratively with clients to develop treatment goals that establish clear expectations and effective treatment. I believe building a trusting relationship with your therapist is essential. I don’t rush into anything that might make clients feel uneasy, and I am consistent with meeting for sessions while also being flexible and able to offer sessions via phone if Zoom isn’t something you feel comfortable with. I believe it is vital for clients to build trust with their therapist by educating them about various treatment approaches and explaining the reasons behind every therapeutic intervention. The more educated clients are about their concerns or symptoms, the more effective therapy sessions tend to be. To support this, I provide various types of homework at the end of every session, from watching YouTube videos to providing handouts on skills that will be beneficial to meet your needs. I am big on mindfulness and dialectical thinking to assist with coping and managing the root of your struggles. I’ll provide a safe space for you to express your emotions, as well as guidance to promote inner healing and peace. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California, which informs my compassionate and client-centered approach. Let’s work together! Reach out for further questions or clarification.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients can expect to complete a biopsychosocial assessment and treatment plan for our first two appointments to gather important information to better identify a diagnosis and treatment plan to identify specific issues/behaviors the client wants to tackle. Furthermore, the client can expect to be provided with skills and educated videos at the end of every session to assist with coping and managing symptoms. Additionally, we will revisit the treatment plan every session to identify our progress and discuss what is working and what might not be working to better serve your needs. I expect collaboration throughout treatment, to assist with meeting your needs.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
