Getting to know Darlene Rosario

Hello, I'm Darlene! I enjoy helping others navigate life's challenges, develop resiliency, and get to a place of self-acceptance. I've been working in the mental health field for the past 7 years. When I'm not with clients, I'm hiking with my Jack Russell, Dory, trying new restaurants, or spending time with friends and family. I hold a MEd in Professional Counseling from the University of West Georgia. My therapy approach is tailored to meet each client's needs. The goal is for you to feel accepted and supported throughout our work together. I will only use evidence-based treatment strategies that are within my scope of practice. I've had experience working with individuals in inpatient residential settings and private practice. My specialty has been with young adults ages 18-25 recovering from psychosis. I'm also experienced working with adults facing mood disorders, anxiety, depression, addiction, unexpected life challenges, and relationship conflict. I like for my clients to feel welcomed, heard, and validated. My communication style is genuine, nurturing, and caring. I may assign homework, skills to practice, or gently challenge you to help build your confidence. Growing up in a military family, my initial passion was to work with veterans and soldiers returning from the war in Iraq. Throughout my schooling, internships, and work experience, I've had the privilege to help individuals from all walks of life. My life experiences have taught me you don't have to suffer, much less figure out how to heal alone. Seeing my clients grow mentally and emotionally is what motivates me to continue helping others. I'm interested in hearing what your therapy goals are and creating a treatment plan that will meet those desired goals. There may be goals I suggest or offer throughout treatment if I see an area in life where you continue to have challenges. Please note, therapy is your work. You have choice in what you want to work on.
