Darrin Haley, LPC

Psychotherapist
GA
I have been practicing as a counselor since May of 2020 and have experience working with a variety of populations, differing in both presenting issues, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, etc. My approach I believe that the counseling relationship is also a partnership. I work with clients to develop their own goals for what they would like out of counseling, and always make sure to remind them that they are in the driver's seat of how our sessions go, in a sense. By that, I mean I will not force clients to talk about things they do not want to talk about, but rather work with them on what they want to work on in counseling. I am here to help clients work on things they want to work on, and I am essentially just a tool for clients to use to gain help with anything they may need. My focus I am open to working with any client who is interested in working with me as long as I am within my scope of practice. A priority for me is to meet clients where they are at, and I feel that this is the best way I can support their needs. No matter how a client may present or what they are looking for, I will always be right there by their side to support them and help them to work for themselves. My communication style I am very open in my communication when it comes to the therapeutic relationship. I maintain healthy boundaries in that I do not typically delve into my personal life or any details about myself. I encourage clients to be as open and honest with me as possible, even if it is something to do with our counseling sessions. If I am not providing what they are looking for, tell me, and I am more than happy to do what I can to adjust. If they feel any sort of issues within the therapeutic relationship, I will never be offended and am always open to changing however I can to adjust to what the client needs.
