“Dr. Dinh has been extremely helpful in enhancing the communication skills between me and my daughter. We have have some difficulties since she has moved back home from college. However, working with him has helped us navigate me scaling back as a parent because my daughter is now and adult, and my daughter understanding that she has more responsibilities towards the household now that she is an adult. Most importantly, he is helping us communicate without yelling matches and how to focus on having empathy towards each other. I highly recommend him.”

Getting to know Dat Dinh

All of us need mental health support in varying ways—in order to better ourselves and improve our lives. It can range from a word of encouragement to specialized mental health services. Wherever you are in your journey, I applaud you for having the courage to reach out for help. For more than 13 years, I have been providing mental health services to people with severe and persistent mental health needs, such as severe depression, anxiety, panic attacks, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and substance addictions. I feel blessed and humbled that my clients have given me the opportunity to walk with them during some of the most vulnerable times in their lives. I have learned a great deal from each of them. I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Loma Linda University. Therapy is a collaborative effort and an opportunity for therapist and client to work together to achieve the client’s realistic goals. As a therapist, I see myself as a mirror through which clients can see themselves more clearly, enabling them to make positive changes. I am flexible in applying different therapies and techniques to meet each client’s unique needs. However, I often use Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) as an underlying philosophy and principle of change. The famous quote, “Change your thoughts and you can change your world,” perfectly summarizes the CBT philosophy. Again, I commend you for your courage in reaching out for help. Whether you choose me as your therapist or not, I wish you the very best as you continue your journey to become the best version of yourself.
