Getting to know David A Gibbs
I am licensed in both Ohio and Florida—Ohio as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, and Florida as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, as well as a Certified Addiction Professional and Qualified Supervisor. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Heidelberg University. With more than 20 years of experience in counseling, I specialize in mental health, substance abuse, and co-occurring issues. Channeling these early experiences, I wrote and self-published the book Humbug to Happiness. The book reflects my passionate belief that everyone is entitled to and deserves a life of happiness. I have worked in multiple settings, including home-based crisis stabilization, private and nonprofit organizations, and private practice. Additionally, I have presented at both local and national conferences, addressing mental health, substance abuse, and their impact on communities.
What should a new client know about working with you?
It is my belief, our collaborative journey, is much like the one our friends from The Wizard of OZ shared. A journey, where they longed to find a place called HOME. I recognize that each of us, at one time or another during our journey felt; alone, different, not good enough or lost. My goal is to empower and guide you to the place you call HOME. Home is knowing - knowing your HEART-knowing your MIND-knowing your COURAGE Together we will recognize you have had it all along! A place called HOME

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
