Getting to know David Baptist

Hello, my name is David Baptist. I am a licensed clinical social worker. I began counseling just over 10 years ago. I believe that our lives are difficult—forming and keeping relationships is a struggle, transitioning to new and unexpected ways of being is emotional and confusing. Finding meaning and purpose when feeling exhausted and losing people and abilities that once gave comfort can be overwhelming. We need people, we need purpose, and finding that bearing in an ocean of thoughts, feelings, and life events sometimes requires an expert in navigation. My role is to help you find your people, your purpose, and your bearings through these difficult circumstances. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from California State University, San Bernardino, which laid the foundation for my clinical practice and deepened my understanding of human behavior and resilience. My approach I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with blends of existential, dialectical, and solution-focused treatment modalities. My focus My experience and comfortability are split two ways. Much of my work is with older adults dealing with chronic illness, caregiving, loss of loved ones, and loss of function. The other focus is on children in foster care—children transitioning through changes, family adjustments, adoption, guilt, trauma, and attachment. My communication style It feels like a world apart, a safe space where time almost stands still and all topics are freely discussed without judgment. My journey to mental healthcare As a child, I went to therapy and found it life-altering. I never changed course in college, earning a Bachelor’s in Psychology, always curious about how people work. I then pursued my Master’s in Social Work and became an LCSW. My goal is to provide comprehensive, compassionate care tailored to each individual's unique needs.
