David Fornos, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
Hi there, I'm David! You’re here because you need help. Depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and relationship dysfunction can stifle and hide the person you really are. What stops you from knowing how to meet your own needs? This is what I can help you explore. I want the world to meet who you are. My approach I work from a client-centered modality, meaning that I endeavor to hold a nonjudgmental and nurturing space for a client and build trust with them so that they can grow into the best possible version of themselves. My focus I work with a wide range of clients struggling with issues as varied as depression, anxiety, substance abuse, codependency, trauma, and religious or spiritual issues. My communication style I do my best to strike a balance between a reflective and directive approach in session, making sure that you have the time and space you need to feel heard but also intervening at times to provide direction and opportunities for insight. My journey to mental healthcare I had a positive experience in therapy as a child and adolescent and have always had a deep interest in psychology and a desire to help people in a meaningful and authentic way. My goals for you Through the establishment of an authentic and supportive therapeutic relationship as well as a safe and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment, my clients are able to gain insight to find methods and resources that work best for them. My first session with you Although I tend to allow sessions to develop organically, I will likely give you space to discuss the issues you may be having as well as what you may want out of the therapeutic experience.
