David Gamble, LPC

Psychotherapist
VA
D. Matt Gamble, LPC License no. 0701013569. My approach to therapy is both gentle and supportive, with a primary focus on working with the LGBTQ+IA population. My approach My therapeutic approach is relational and feminist in orientation. I believe past relationships, both positive and negative, shape who we become as adults. My focus With over 20 years of progressive experience in mental health, I have honed my work toward mood disorders such as depression and anxiety, as well as gender dysphoria and other topics specific to LGBTQIA+ identity. I earned my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern New Hampshire University in 2020 and am currently pursuing a PhD in counselor education and supervision. My communication style In a world full of noise, I provide a place of quiet, offering space to focus and reflect. My journey to mental healthcare I began my mental health career at age 21, working for 10 years at a state psychiatric institution. During that time, I was often appalled by the treatment people received during some of their lowest moments. After a five-year break pursuing other endeavors, I returned to mental health once my own circumstances improved. I completed my BA in psychology in 2017, followed by my MA in 2020, and now continue my education with doctoral studies. My goals for you Goal setting happens during our first session and guides treatment through discharge. You set the goals, and I provide recommendations to help you achieve them. My first session with you I dedicate significant time to building a strong therapeutic rapport because that is where healing begins.
