Getting to know Dawn Miller

Hello, I'm Dawn. I am a problem solver, a supporter, and an encourager. My goal is to help you figure things out so you can feel better as quickly as possible, and you set the pace for our journey together. With over 18 years of experience, I specialize in trauma, depression, and anxiety. I am trained in EMDR therapy, which I use with most clients to achieve amazing and quick results for depression, anxiety, trauma, or negative core beliefs rooted in early experiences. Additionally, I incorporate CBT and person-centered modalities to help you make different choices or think differently about things. I am an Ohio Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervision endorsement and a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor with a Clinical Supervisor endorsement. Since entering the counseling profession in 2006, I have worked across various levels of care, including inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings. As an Ohio State University graduate, I initially taught in the school system before earning my Master's degree in Counseling from Spring Arbor University. My experience spans working with dual diagnosis, geriatric psychiatric clients, and adolescent treatment. I have provided individual, group, couples, and family counseling, and I am comfortable treating a wide range of mental health issues in a friendly and non-judgmental way. My provider has at times, been unable to stifle her yawns while I’m speaking. Each session to date has had some sort of an issue. I understand that not every provider/client will be a match, however I’ve felt an overall lack of authenticity since the first session.
