Getting to know Dawn Rogers

I have worked as a counselor for 23 years. I earned my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Toledo. I spent 15 years in private practice, seeing clients with a variety of mental health concerns. In addition, I have worked extensively with relationship issues such as marital discord and family-of-origin problems that contribute to relationship challenges. I do not subscribe to one particular mode of therapy because I believe all people are individuals with unique problem-solving methods that work for them. My approach is to work as a team member—to listen and offer possible solutions. I work with all adults 18 years and older and include adult family members when necessary.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Homework! Counseling is a problem solving endeavor that includes behavior changes or a change in mindset. These changes take time, trial and error and homework assignments reinforce that enforce the changes.
