Hi there, I'm Debby! My name is Debby Diamond. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in California and available via Telehealth. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from California State University, Bakersfield. My specialty is working with older adults facing anxiety, depression, grief/loss, and the life stressors and challenges often experienced from middle age through the elder years. I may utilize cognitive-behavioral, narrative, solution-focused, existential, reminiscence therapy, or other modalities best suited to address treatment needs. My approach I use a strength-based approach with clients and seek ways to promote resilience-building throughout treatment. Any combination of cognitive-behavioral, narrative, solution-focused, existential, reminiscence therapy, or other modalities could be implemented, depending on what would be most effective for a client’s individual plan. My focus I have been fine-tuning my skills in working with older adult clients over several years and have learned to trust my instincts within the treatment process. There are opportunities to use creativity and eclectic methods of selecting interventions that may assist those facing symptoms of depression or anxiety, experiencing grief/loss, unexpectedly becoming a full-time caregiver for a parent, spouse, or both, or adapting to changes in physical functioning—to list a few. Fortunately, positive media messaging on the benefits of seeking mental wellness support encourages more individuals in later life to come forward for treatment. My communication style My style is personable and adaptable. My goal is for clients to feel at ease, and I seek to complement my client’s communication style as much as possible. I prioritize helping clients feel emotionally comfortable during sessions to provide the most optimal therapeutic environment.
