Thanks so much for filling me in on your current struggles. You certainly do have some tough choices ahead of you, so I can see why you are feeling a bit lost. Through our collaborative efforts, you will be able to determine the option that best suits your needs. Being a licensed behavioral health professional for over 25 years and having recently finished my coursework for my Ph.D. in psychology, I feel confident I can assist you with whatever is bothering you at this time. I appreciate you telling me a bit about what has worked well in previous counseling, and I will keep this in mind as we get started. My approach I use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to help you identify and reshape unhelpful thought patterns. This approach is hands-on and gives you tools to feel more in control of your emotions and behaviors. Based on your unique needs, I may adapt my approach to include practices like mindfulness and medication. Your goals and progress are my primary focus. Together, we’ll identify challenges and work on strategies to help you move forward with confidence. My focus I have much training and have worked with many diagnoses in hospitals and communities, and feel very comfortable with Stress, Anxiety, Grief, and Depression. Additional areas of focus: Addictions, Relationship issues, Family conflicts, Trauma and abuse, Intimacy-related issues, Sleeping disorders, Self-esteem, Career difficulties, Bipolar disorder, Coping with life changes, Coaching, Compassion fatigue, Abandonment, Aging and geriatric issues, Attachment issues, Blended family issues, Body image, Cancer, Caregiver issues and stress, Chronic pain, illness, and disability, Co-morbidity, Codependency, Commitment issues, Communication problems, Control issues, Coping with natural or human-caused disaster, Dependent personality, Dissociation, Divorce and separation, Domestic violence, Drug and alcohol addiction, Emptiness, Family problems.
