Hi there, I'm Deborah! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with over 14 years of experience. I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy and Child Counseling from California State University, Sacramento. I have worked with individuals of all ages, from young children to older adults, as well as families and couples. My approach is integrative, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, EMDR, Mindfulness/Somatic-Based "Hakomi" Therapy, and other modalities to support clients in managing troubling and unhealthy symptoms and behaviors. My approach is tailored to each client’s needs, incorporating evidence-based modalities such as CBT, Trauma-Focused Care, EMDR, and Mindfulness/Somatic-Based "Hakomi" Therapy. I help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while fostering healing through body awareness and trauma-informed care. My goal is to create a safe, collaborative space where clients develop effective coping skills and work toward lasting change at their own pace. I work primarily with adolescents and young adults, women, the elderly, and individuals navigating major life transitions. I specialize in helping clients manage anxiety, stress, anger and rage, depression, substance abuse, unhealthy relationships, and dissociation. I am experienced in working with trauma survivors and those struggling with emotional regulation, guiding them toward healing and growth. I strive to create a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard and valued. My communication style is compassionate yet direct, helping clients gain insight while feeling safe to explore difficult emotions. Sessions with me are interactive, encouraging self-awareness and meaningful progress at a comfortable pace. I believe clients are the “experts” and center my approach on utilizing their strengths to help them find appropriate solutions to their challenges.
