Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Deborah! Deborah Tarrson, LMFT. I provide a gentle, caring presence and am skilled at reflective listening, allowing clients to feel seen, heard, and understood. I build rapport to create a safe, trusting environment where clients can access and express their feelings, emotions, and deepest truths. I use various therapeutic modalities, including Person-Centered Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Somatic interventions, and Mindfulness. I am also familiar with trauma-informed therapy interventions. My approach I meet clients wherever they are emotionally with unconditional positive regard to help facilitate the changes, growth, and healing they seek. I use a collaborative approach to help clients discover strategies and solutions that best support them in fulfilling their potential. My focus I have experience working with adults facing depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, and relationship issues and am comfortable addressing these conditions. I have also worked with elementary students ages 5 through 11 in a school setting. Before becoming a therapist, I was a preschool and elementary school teacher for many years, which deepened my enjoyment of working with children. My communication style I am gentle, kind, and empathetic, setting a patient and compassionate tone during sessions. I use Marshall Rosenberg’s Nonviolent Communication and help clients learn to use this style when appropriate. My journey to therapy I have been drawn to psychology since my first college psychology class. I earned my Bachelor’s from Illinois State University and completed my Master’s in Counseling Psychology at John F. Kennedy University. I became a teacher due to my experience working with children and was profoundly influenced by an amazing psychologist who ran the preschool where I worked. This experience had a huge impact on my life and inspired my path to becoming a therapist.
