My name is Deborah Turhan, and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges and work toward meaningful, lasting change. What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to therapy is person-centered and grounded in cultural sensitivity. I recognize that each client brings their own experiences, beliefs, values, strengths, and challenges into the therapeutic process. I believe effective therapy begins with building a trusting relationship and creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can openly explore their thoughts, emotions, and concerns. Throughout my clinical experience, I have worked with individuals and families experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns. I have experience providing psychoeducation and utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions to help clients better understand their emotional and behavioral patterns, develop effective coping skills, strengthen relationships, and work through difficult life experiences.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

As a social worker, I believe that therapy is a collaborative process. My role is not to tell clients who they should be or how they should live, but to walk alongside them as they discover their strengths, identify their goals, and develop the tools necessary to move forward. I encourage clients to recognize their resilience and build upon the strengths they already possess. I am committed to continuing to grow professionally and to providing thoughtful, compassionate, and culturally responsive care. It is a privilege to support clients through their journeys and to witness the growth, self-discovery, and positive changes that can emerge through the therapeutic process.
