Getting to know Deborah Wright
Hello! I'm Debbie Wright, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from California State University, San Bernardino. I serve clients via telehealth throughout California. My approach to therapy is to meet clients where they are and work with them to identify goals that improve their quality of life.
My approach
I tailor therapy to each client's specific needs, often using a combination of cognitive behavioral and solution-focused techniques. These methods help clients address various challenges and stressors. Through this process, I establish trust, define goals, and support clients in working toward achieving them.
My focus
I work with adults aged 18 and older, including college students (undergraduate and graduate) and those navigating life transitions such as parenting, middle age, later life, illness/hospice, grief and loss, immigration/acculturation, and racial identity concerns. I am comfortable treating anxiety, depression, and ADD. I provide both individual and group therapy.
My communication style
I communicate in a calm, honest, caring, and direct manner. My goal is to create a safe space where you feel comfortable sharing without fear of judgment.
My journey to therapy
My path to becoming a therapist began long before college. From an early age, I found myself listening to others and offering suggestions. Over the years, I have worked with individuals in various roles, and once I began my career, it was clear that the helping professions were the right fit. I enjoy working with people and consider it a privilege when clients choose to share some of the most difficult and painful parts of their lives with me. Each client's story and resilience remind me why I do this work.
