Getting to know DeLasea Sloan

My name is DeLasea "Renee" Sloan, LPC. I have been working in the field of Mental Health for over 18 years. I hold a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. My approach I utilize a fusion of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Holistic approaches, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, Reality Therapy, Intervention, and more. My focus My experience includes working with patients through telesessions and in person, both in community and hospital settings. I work with clients from diverse backgrounds who have various diagnoses and classifications, such as dual diagnosis, substance abuse, severe persistent mental illness, sex offenders, behavioral issues, depression, mania, anxiety, and others. My communication style My credence is to always have an open heart and open mind, to meet my clients where they are in their life's journey, with the intention to help and heal, and above all, to never do harm. My goals for you When setting goals, I strive to understand what my clients want out of life, what they hope to achieve, and how dedicated they are to reaching their goals. I assist clients in creating a plan of action-revising it as needed-that outlines the steps required to successfully support them in achieving their goals. My first session with you In our first session, I focus on getting to know my client's expectations for treatment and establishing a general understanding of what to expect throughout the therapeutic process.
