Hi there, I'm Delora Evans, LPC-S, LCDC. I have been in the therapy and counseling field for over 20 years. I earned my Master’s in Counseling from Texas Wesleyan University and my Bachelor’s from the University of North Texas, Denton. I believe that people may sometimes need help in many areas of their lives, so I treat them with a person-centered, holistic approach. My approach is rooted in person-centered therapy, where the therapist supports the whole person and plays an instrumental role in facilitating change, though the client ultimately drives their own growth. One of my biggest strengths is my enthusiastic and motivating personality. I am empathetic, compassionate, and humanistic in my approach to helping others. As a Person-Centered Therapist, I gently guide clients to break self-imposed barriers that block self-determination and growth. I integrate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Reality Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients challenge maladaptive thinking patterns. I work with both men and women. My communication style reflects my enthusiasm and compassion, creating a supportive environment where clients feel understood and motivated. My journey to mental healthcare began with a deep interest in people and a desire to help them. Being a therapist allows me to fulfill that passion. My goal for you is to encourage setting S.M.A.R.T. goals—specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-sensitive—to support your progress. In our first session, we will establish rapport, get to know each other, and begin a process of learning and growth together.
