Psychotherapist
IL
I bring 15 years of experience to my work and genuinely love what I do. I’m passionate about helping people feel empowered, heal, and move toward lives that feel meaningful and authentic. I believe everyone has the capacity to heal—sometimes we just need a little support along the way. I live near the tri-state border and provide remote therapy to clients in Illinois and Iowa. An Iowa native, I spent about a decade living and working in Southern California and Phoenix before returning to the Midwest to be closer to my (now) husband and stepkids. Yes—I traded sunny San Diego for a snowy Midwestern winter in December! I offer a safe, affirming space for women and LGBTQIA+ individuals. I specialize in supporting neurodivergent clients and those living with chronic illness or disabilities. I especially enjoy working with young adults navigating the many transitions that often arise in their 20s and 30s. My approach is eclectic, strengths-based, and grounded in mindfulness. I believe everyone can benefit from a nonjudgmental, supportive space at different points in life. I would be honored to help you build self-esteem, self-compassion, mindfulness, and other skills to support your personal and professional goals. My hope is to help you process what you need to feel empowered, confident, and ready to move forward.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I use an eclectic, individualized approach, tailoring therapy to each client’s unique needs. My work is grounded in a person-centered foundation and may include mindfulness, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral techniques, trauma-informed care, and acceptance and commitment therapy. Your preferences matter, and I always welcome your questions, requests, or concerns. Our first session focuses on your history and goals, with ongoing therapeutic work beginning in the following sessions.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, we’ll talk about your medical and therapy history, your expectations, and what brought you to therapy. If you’ve had therapy before, I’ll ask about your experience and any preferences you have. Together, we’ll set goals and develop a plan for moving forward. The first few sessions are about getting to know each other and building rapport. This is how trust develops and how I learn the best ways to support you. Therapy can take many forms, and we’ll find what works for you. My space is always safe and nonjudgmental, and I hope it will include honesty—and probably a good bit of laughter. There may also be tears, and that’s okay—they’re part of the healing process.
